There is a lot of nonsense out there, folks.

What I mean by nonsense is all of the motivational, new age stuff talking about visualization and the law of attraction being the primary causes of one’s success or failure.

The truth is that you have to get off of your ass and work for any success that you may achieve.

Not all things that I’ve come across were nonsense but some of the material was not relevant to my demographic — sole proprietors, free lancers, independent contractors, micro business owners (i.e., businesses with up to 5 employees), and intrapreneurs — an employee of a large corporation who is given freedom and financial support to create new products, services, systems, etc., and does not have to follow the corporation’s usual routines or protocols (according to Dictionary.com).

Jack Welch and Peter Drucker are indeed geniuses but their books on operating a large company with a lot of people is not necessarily relevant to the challenges grassroots capitalists may face. So, I looked at my track record in sales and operations management and decided to give those similarly situated the real deal on what it takes to grow their micro business. As a matter of fact, I even discourage some from going into business at all. Just because you can bake cakes doesn’t mean you should open a bakery as an entirely different skill set is required.

THE WHOLE 9 YARDS will take you from A to Z on what it takes to grow a successful business. This book was written specifically for independent contractors and micro business owners. I don’t have a business in a box to sell you or a specific business type or industry to recommend to you. Whatever business you choose will be of your choosing and your decision alone. I just want to give you the tools to make an informed decision.

Again, …
